Cleaning
Abrasive
Traditional sandblasting consists of shooting granular material such as sand or glass shot at the surface to remove dirt, carbon staining, limescale and brittle paints. This process is typically preformed with a high pressure system and can be detrimental to softer materials such as brick and sandstone as it eats away at the material.
At GCS we use a low pressure system called, The ROTEC VORTEX cleaning system. This system uses low air pressure mixed with water and micro- abrasive powders. This process is an extremely gentle, cost-effective cleaning method that does not require the use of any harsh or harmful chemicals. The ROTEC VORTEX Cleaning system is a proven method that gently lifts away dirt, leaving the beauty and character of the original surface intact. This unique cleaning process is not only mild, but it is also nontoxic

Washing

Typically washing of historic building structures is carried out with a high pressure washing system. This is effective but can damage the material being cleaned.

At GSC we implement a high temperature steam system know as the DOFF system. Using high temperatures couple with low pressure produces fantastic cleaning results with 0% surface damage. The steam/superheated water will remove paint, moss, algae, fungi and other biological matter and will also kill off spores.
This means there’s then no need to use a chemical biocide during the removal process or as a protection against further biological activity.
